The people behind Ubiami

Built from experience. Born out of necessity.

For the past four years, we've been entrepreneurs ourselves, running an electric scooter rental business in Thailand.

And somewhere along the way, we realised something was wrong.

We were spending more and more time managing the business and less and less time actually moving it forward.

Emails, invoices, marketing, customer service, staff, work schedules, field operations, documents, administration, unexpected problems and countless small tasks.

Everything needed attention. Someone always needed an answer, a decision or a helping hand. And somehow, it all ended up on our desks.

We didn't need another tool to manage. We needed someone to take work off our hands.

That's where Ubiami began.

We built what we wished we'd had ourselves: a digital colleague that takes care of everyday tasks, brings order to the chaos and gives entrepreneurs their time back.

Because running a business should be about building it, not being buried in it.

Meet the people

Behind Ubiami are two founders with different backgrounds, decades of experience and one shared belief: technology should adapt to people, not the other way around.

Jani Heinonen, Angelika Meikop and Hannele Piri, the people behind Ubiami

Angelika Meikop

Co-Founder & CEO · The human perspective

Angelika has spent more than 20 years working with people, businesses, communication and the everyday challenges that come with getting things done.

Her background spans business management, marketing, customer experience, training, entrepreneurship and international projects.

Having worked across different industries, countries and cultures, she knows that even the most impressive technology is worthless if people find it confusing, frustrating or unnecessarily complicated.

Curious by nature, direct in her thinking and practical in her approach, Angelika has a particular talent for asking the questions that sometimes get lost in technical discussions:

Why does this need to be so complicated? Who is this actually helping? And couldn't we make it simpler?

At Ubiami, she brings the customer's perspective into every decision, making sure the technology serves real people with real businesses and very real Monday mornings.

She believes good service should feel natural, straightforward and human. Preferably with a little humour along the way.

Jani Heinonen

Co-Founder & CTO · The mind behind the technology

Jani has spent more than 30 years working at the intersection of software development, technology strategy and business.

His career has taken him from hands-on programming to leading complex technology projects, advising major Nordic companies and building new digital products from the ground up.

With 25 years at Tietoevry and experience as a technology leader and entrepreneur, Jani understands both sides of the equation: what businesses need and what it actually takes to build systems that deliver.

His expertise covers everything from cloud architecture and software development to business process automation, connected technologies and scalable digital platforms.

But what makes Jani particularly valuable is his ability to see beyond the code. For him, technology is never the goal. It's simply the way to get something useful done.

At Ubiami, he turns that philosophy into technology that works.

In the ownership team

Hannele Piri

Shareholder · The financial perspective

Hannele brings over 25 years of experience in financial management, corporate finance and business leadership to Ubiami.

Her career includes CFO positions at companies such as Bolt.Works, Solibri, Parking Energy and TANOMA, as well as extensive experience in entrepreneurship, business restructuring, funding and strategic financial planning.

Having worked with both growing companies and established businesses, Hannele understands that successful growth takes more than great ideas. It requires financial discipline, sound decisions and a clear understanding of how businesses actually operate.

At Ubiami, she brings valuable financial expertise and a business-minded perspective to the ownership team, helping ensure that innovation and commercial reality go hand in hand.

Two perspectives. One idea.

One of us builds the technology. The other keeps asking whether anyone actually wants to use it.

And somewhere between those two perspectives, Ubiami takes shape.

We're building a digital colleague that helps you get things done without adding another layer of complexity to your day.

Because we believe the best technology isn't the technology you spend your time thinking about. It's the technology that gives you your time back.

Digital that makes sense. Because you have better things to do.

Show us your workday.
